Two of the scopes look like 6400s.one a 24X and the other a 16X. The rifle has bases, but they are spaced for the old 3200s, Unertl ect type scopes. I would get bases for the receiver and go with a more modern scope.

scope will fit the Lyman style blocks, and will physically hold the Redfield up on the barrel, but it is doubtful that such a choice of mounting will be adequate for shooting a center fire caliber round. I glommed a collection of Redfield scopes over the weekend at an auction. The Redfield 3200 were good scopes years ago but everybody has made improvements since then. I suppose any 3/8 inch "tip off" ring for a 1 inch dia. The Lyman configuration compensates for recoil forces which are exerted on the scope mounts. This locking arrangement is there in order to make a more secure scope installation. The Lyman style blocks have a flat top with a "locking" recess milled into the right side, which in turn accepts a corresponding "locking" piece which is in the Lyman scope mount and which is tightened by the thumb screw into the block recess. I would like to know if there are 1 " diameter rings available for use in mounting a Redfield 3200 scope on my existing Lyman blocks ? I have four barrels that all have the Steve Earle manufactured Lyman style scope blocks installed and are shot with an original Lyman Super Target Spot scope.
